My Health Journey – Part 2 The Real Source of My Fatigue

A few years after receiving the ego punch from my GI-Map lab that showed me I wasn’t as healthy as I thought I was, I quickly corrected course and got my health back under control.  My hives cleared up, my congestion went away, my stomach wasn’t giving me problems anymore and I was sleeping much better. 

But now I was dealing with yet another issue – Major Fatigue!

I had heard about people who were so fatigued they couldn’t get out of bed or function, but that wasn’t me.  Like most of my clients, I kept up my busy schedule, burning the candle at both ends, powering through every day to keep up with the demands of my career and home life. Feeling tired and burnt had become my “new normal.” 

That’s when it hit me!

I wasn’t taking my own advice! I didn’t slow down long enough to check in with my body and assess how I was really feeling versus a couple years so. Like all my clients, I didn’t have time to slow down!

So, I decided to run another lab test on myself called an HTMA (hair tissue mineral analysis). This lab looks at mineral imbalances in the body along with any heavy metal toxicity.  Minerals are the “spark plugs” of our metabolism.  If they’re out of balance, our cells are simply unable to produce energy.

I never paid much attention to minerals before. You know… the good ‘ol fashioned minerals like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and such.  I figured I was getting enough of those from all the vegetables I ate.  Plus, if I’m being honest, vitamin and mineral supplements are not nearly as sexy and fun as all the biohacking supplements!

What did the HTMA tell me?

Low and behold, the HTMA results confirmed exactly what I was feeling.  It revealed that my minerals were tanked!  I had what is called a “4-Lows Pattern”. This pattern of mineral imbalances is quite common for high-performing females. A “4 Lows Pattern” means your body is not able to keep up with the energy demands you place on it. Yet again, I had that “WTF?!” moment and much needed wake up call.  The HTMA is yet another Foundational Lab that I run on every one of my clients. 

What did I do?

I started immediately consuming adrenal cocktails several times per day. No ladies, not THAT kind of cocktail with an umbrella or 3 olives.  ☺

I swear to you, literally within hours I felt like my brain and body came back online.  It felt like a fog had been lifted. A few weeks after that, I started to take a custom blended, mineral supplement formula designed specifically for a “4 Lows Pattern.”

I made myself “slow down” – which is nearly impossible for us high-performing females! While I still had a demanding schedule, I stopped burning the candle at both ends every single day. And I allowed myself some down time on the weekends to enjoy the life I’d worked so hard to build.

The Result?

About a month into my new supplement and stress reduction routine, I felt like a whole new person. I couldn’t even believe the difference! I no longer felt like I needed to mainline caffeine throughout the day just to keep up. I also felt more joy and peace in my life. It was awesome!

Today, I’m feeling a heck of a lot better than I did 2 years ago and more humbled. After decades of biohacking, I realize now the importance of first dialing in the basics – the same basics I work with my clients on today. I call this the RED DRESS pathway.
