After receiving the ego punch a few years before, telling me I wasn’t as healthy as I thought I was, I quickly corrected course and got my health back under control. I continued to do “all the things” to be healthy.
But now I was dealing with a different problem… Major fatigue!
Like most all of my clients, I didn’t stop to realize how fatigued I really was because feeling this way had become my “new normal.”
And that’s when I hit me!
I needed to run another lab on myself called an HTMA (hair tissue mineral analysis). This lab looks at mineral imbalances in the body as well as heavy metal toxicity. And this is another Foundational Lab that I run on every one of my clients.
You see, minerals are the “spark plugs” of our metabolism. If they’re out of balance, our cells are simply unable to produce energy. I never paid much attention to minerals before. You know… the good ‘ol fashioned minerals like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium and such. I figured I was getting enough of those from all the vegetables I ate. Plus, if I’m being honest, vitamin and mineral supplements are not nearly as sexy and fun as all the biohacking supplements.
What did the HTMA tell me?
Low and behold, the HTMA results confirmed why I was so tired all the time. I had what is called a “4-Lows Pattern”. This pattern of mineral imbalances is quite common for high-performing females. A “4 Lows Pattern” means your adrenals are tanked, and your body is no longer able to keep up with the energy demands you place on it. Yet again, I had that WTF moment and another wake up call.
What did I do?
I started immediately consuming adrenal cocktails several times per day. No ladies, not THAT kind of cocktail with an umbrella or 3 olives. I swear to you, literally within hours I felt like my brain and body came back online. It’s like a fog had been lifted.
A few weeks after that I started to take a custom blended, mineral supplement designed specifically for a “4 Lows Pattern.” Additionally, I made myself “slow down” a bit (which is almost impossible for us high-performing females!) I stopped burning the candle at both ends and gave my brain and body little breaks throughout the day and a little more down time on the weekends.
The Result?

I no longer felt like I needed to mainline caffeine throughout the day just to keep up. And I know this sounds crazy, but I also felt more joy and peace in my life.
Today, I’m feeling a heck of a lot better than I did 2 years ago, and much more humbled. I now realize the importance of the HTMA lab test and dialing in the basics – the same basics I work with my clients on today. I call this the RED DRESS pathway.
