Brain fog, mood swings, forgetfulness, anxiety, low libido and lack of motivation during midlife are often caused by hormonal fluctuations affecting your neurotransmitters. These symptoms are physiological, not a character flaw.
When your hormones fluctuate like a rollercoaster, especially in midlife, your neurotransmitters (chemical messengers to your brain and nervous system) also go haywire, impacting your mood, motivation, stress, focus, memory, sleep and appetite.
Getting to the root causes through personalized strategies like the RED DRESS action plan can help balance your mood, restore your energy levels and provide that calm confidence required to crush your goals!
Standard medical labs are designed to detect disease, not the early dysfunctions causing your symptoms. If you feel "off," measurable imbalances exist even when test results appear normal. Traditional testing excels at spotting disease but often misses the root cause dysfunctions behind symptoms like fatigue, brain fog, sleep disturbances, mood issues and hormonal issues.
You don't need your doctor's validation to confirm what you're feeling! Don't wait for your symptoms to worsen and your lab values to finally show "out of range" before seeking support. Because by that time, a full-on diagnosable disease will have developed!
Through functional testing and the RED DRESS action plan, we will identify the root causes behind your symptoms and can help you feel better immediately, often better than you have in years.
As a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® Practitioner (FDNP) and certified Hormone Menopause practitioner, I use functional lab testing to build personalized protocols rather than offering general advice.
Typical health coaches suggest lifestyle changes you might try, but I act as a health detective, listening to your symptoms, understanding "a day in the life" of you, then ordering specific functional lab tests to correlate what you're experiencing with what's happening physiologically.
From there, I create a customized, step by step RED DRESS action plan, specific to your health concerns and lifestyle, designed to resolve your symptoms for good! I also guide you on how to incorporate these strategies into your demanding schedule, not just what to do.
Most clients experience noticeable improvements in energy and mental clarity within 2-4 weeks through Immediate Relief strategies like nutrition and sleep optimization. My approach is two-fold: Immediate Relief strategies begin the day we start working together, with high-impact tweaks to nutrition and sleep that fit your demanding corporate schedule so you can reclaim your edge without slowing down.
In order to fully resolve and eliminate unwanted symptoms, we need to restore complete metabolic function and bring all of the body's systems back into balance. This can take a good 5-12 months or longer, depending on the number and severity of imbalances and of course the level of compliance with the RED DRESS action plan.
Like Functional Medicine (FM) doctors, FDN Practitioners (FDN-Ps) focus on uncovering and resolving the root causes of symptoms. However, many FM doctors focus their efforts on "fixing" specific lab values that may be "out of range" and they rarely consider the lifestyle and environmental factors contributing to the symptoms, nor do they support their patients in specific ways to mitigate these lifestyle factors.
Additionally, while FM doctors often do recommend supplements, they still rely heavily on prescribing pharmaceutical drugs to "treat" symptoms and lab values.
In contrast, FDN-Ps are not licensed medical doctors and do not prescribe pharmaceutical drugs. Instead, we use natural therapies, supplements and lifestyle support strategies to restore optimal balance and function back to the body so the symptoms will resolve themselves.
It is important to note that FDN-Ps will always recommend their clients continue to work with their primary care physician for anything that may require a diagnosis and licensed medical care.
